City Council Approves 2026 City Budget

In December the Roseau City Council approved the 2026 City Budget. Budget revenues are projected at $17,200,137 and expenses are projected at $17,599,226 for all city departments. The city tax levy to support this budget is $1,251,782.18.

Planned capital improvements included in the 2026 budget include:

• Motor Grader - $230,000
• Airport Runway/Taxiway Reconstruction - $3,810,296
• Mowing Tractor - $100,000
• Airport Finish Mower - $32,000
• (2) Used Pickup Trucks - $70,000
• Completion of Pedestrian Bridge - $1,763,656

The 2026 budget also includes debt service payments on three capital projects completed in previous years:

• 2025 Fire Truck - $70,725
• 2025 Arena Roofing Project - $115,125
• 2021 Oak Crest Estates Subdivision Infrastructure - $57,930

The remainder of the budget comprises the following categories:

• Cost of Goods Sold (Wholesale Electricity, Wholesale Liquor, Wholesale Airport Fuel, & Garbage Transfer Fees) - $5,077,533
• Personnel Expense - $3,000,823
• Materials & Equipment/Repairs & Maint./Contractual Services/Insurance/Utilities/Misc. - $3,271,138
