Position Objectives:

The City of Roseau is seeking an energetic and personable candidate to join our Arena team.  This position is part-time seasonal and involves maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for the public, coaches, officials, players, and other users of Memorial Arena.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to do daily tasks such as…

  ~Perform all ice maintenance duties (Use of Zamboni and edger).

  ~Sweep and mop floors

  ~Keep bathrooms and locker rooms clean and full of supplies.

  ~Pick up garbage and empty garbage cans

  ~Clean viewing glass, benches, dasher boards, rink glass, player and official boxes

  ~Check, maintain, and replace, as needed, air filters, light bulbs and other consumable items.

  ~Monitor compressor, heating system, sound system and other arena mechanical systems and report any issues to Arena Manager

  ~Perform daily and preventative maintenance to the Zamboni (Wipe down, blade changes, grease, lube, oil and water.)

 

Must be able to maintain a clean and safe environment for the public, coaches and players.  Must be able to work various hours mainly evenings, and weekends. Must be able to deal with the public in a positive way.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical labor including needing to be able to bend, stoop, twist, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Experience in operating arena equipment such as a ice resurfacer desired.  Experience in janitorial and facility maintenance preferred.

Benefits:

This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits

This position is a part-time temporary position running from October through March.
