Business Assistance Programs
The City of Roseau and the Roseau EDA utilize many economic development incentive programs to promote the establishment, expansion or relocation of business into the community.
Below is a list of some of the tools that are available:
- Tax Increment Financing. The City and EDA can provide TIF incentives for certain types of development projects in Roseau.
- Low Interest Loans: The City and EDA maintain a business loan program which can provide low interest loans to business start-ups, expansions and relocations (retail subject to competition tests).
- Economic Development Utility Rates. The City may assist businesses with special economic development utilty rates for a electric, water and sewer service on appropriate projects.
- Tax Abatement. The City and EDA may provide qualifying new manufacturing or other non-retail or service business with tax abatement incentives.
- State & Federal Grant and Loan Programs. The City of Roseau works closely with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, SBA and USDA to implement many State and Federal business assistance programs.
- Local Technical Assistance. The Roseau EDA has partnerships with many agencies to provide technical assistance to business.
